Issue #18: The 3-Tab Shopping Strategy
Shop Smarter, Not Harder: How 3 Tabs Can Change the Way You Shop Online
This past week, the weather was stunning in NYC, and for many New Yorkers, that’s the perfect excuse to get outdoors and spend money. We’ve been fighting the cold and rain for too many months — we did our spring cleaning, and our closets are ready for a revamp. For me especially, I spent the entire week fighting the urge to stroll along 5th Ave and maybe even stop by SoHo, just to “browse.”
I can confirm this isn’t exclusive to NYC either. My best friend called me after work on Thursday while strolling down Newbury Street in Boston because the weather reminded her she had “no spring clothes.” And for my readers based in L.A., you’re probably fighting this urge for most of the year…
But in this economy, should we really be spending money just because the weather’s nice? Or, even worse, should we be paying full price for items given the incoming impact of tariffs? According to a recent survey from KPMG, “half of U.S. consumers are actively seeking out discounts and promotions in their summer purchases,” and companies are responding with a rise in “tariff-based marketing campaigns.”
With so much uncertainty, in-person shopping might not be our smartest move. We need to turn to online shopping to find the best deals, so we can at least be somewhat financially responsible when building our spring/summer wardrobes. So, the next perfect-weather day we get in the city, I’m taking the happy hour route — pairing it with my laptop and three tabs open, one for each company below 👇
🛍️ Tab #1: Locker
To start, I am opening up Locker — the fastest way to save and organize products while browsing online. With the Locker Chrome Extension, I can save pieces from various brands that would otherwise pile up in multiple tabs and risk crashing my computer. All my items will be stored in my “Locker,” so when I’m done the browsing phase of online shopping, I can easily compare pieces across stores and brands — or even create collections to save for future trips or special occasions. This is a game-changer for online shopping organization and efficiency.
But what about finding the best deals and promos? That brings us to tab #2.

💳 Tab #2: Phia
Before we purchase the items in our Locker, we need to make sure we’re getting the best price. For example, let’s say I decided to buy a pair of Paige jeans. I’ll click the link to the Paige website, then open the Phia Chrome Extension. Phia instantly compares prices — both new and used — for the exact jeans, so I can see if there’s a better deal Nordstrom, Poshmark, or other retailers. Phia helps you shop smarter, not harder — and, your bank account is a huge fan.

👜 Tab #3: SECONDSENSE
While Locker and Phia already make online shopping a much more enjoyable experience, what if you only want to shop secondhand? That’s where the biggest headache usually kicks in… there are so many secondhand platforms, each with its own quality ratings and price points, turning the process into hours of research.
SECONDSENSE is changing that by making secondhand shopping actually enjoyable. The platform aggregates listings from multiple resale marketplaces and matches identical items across them to help shoppers find the best deal. It simplifies the secondhand shopping process, making it easier to compare prices and shop with confidence.
Although they currently only list designer handbags, stay tuned — their product offering is set to expand in the coming months.

So that’s it! These are the only three tabs you’ll need to shop online smarter: one to organize your picks, one to find the best price, and one to make secondhand shopping effortless. Your computer battery will thank you, and your wallet will love you.
That’s all for this week, see you next Sunday!
